“This is therapeutic but not therapy.”
Creating and maintaining a balance of both work and life begins with a space set apart from everyday life whereby you can creatively reflect on and identify current work-life 'imbalances'. From this, energy can be channelled into directing 'imbalance' to 'balance.'
This is the ideal workshop for people in the health care as well as the hospitality and service industry. Working with people day in and day out we consciously and unconsciously wear “social masks” to get through the day. Especially during the recent pandemic, there who have found the daily wearing of masks during these trying times, both surprisingly liberating while at the same time inhibiting and stifling.

This could be a simple and literal exploration of who you are and how you choose to express while wearing your protective mask or you can take it to a deeper and more meaningful level as you unpack the many masks you wear as you go through your life’s journey, be that the mask of parent/child, or the mask of mentor/student. Beginning is the hardest, but it is the best place to start.
With the world in crises, from pandemics to floods to wildfires, its easy to feel overwhelmed and to find yourself on a downward spiral. Engaging with creativity has been scientifically shown to keep you happier and healthier, and better able to weather the storms that life throws your way. Creativity keeps your spirits up and keeps your mind active and flexible.
SOUND THERAPY
The workshop begins with a rhythmic section as we learn about and play with various rhythms and sounds that unconsciously accompany us as we go about our daily lives.
DANCE THERAPY
We then explore the world of movement and physical expression as we remove all speech and learn how to use our bodies and movement to express how we are feeling.
VISUAL ART THERAPY
The workshop culminates in the creation of various visual art pieces that represent who we are in front of as well as behind the mask.
“The arts are a critical component of healthcare. Expressive art is a tool to explore, develop and practice creativity as a means to wellness.”
